Bridge Academy Announces Virtual Start to the School Year

Updated: Nov 19, 2020

August 3, 2020

Dear Bridge Academy Families,

Today we announce the Bridge Academy’s 2020-2021 school year will begin virtually

to keep staff, students, and the community safe. We will continue the guidelines of

Michigan’s governor, Berrien Springs Public Schools, and Berrien County Health

Department to ensure the safety of all in our community. A virtual start to the

school year allows for students to remain safe while also continuing to focus on their

academic and vocational goals. Our certified teachers and support staff are fully

prepared to continue delivering quality academic options for students, despite out

building being closed.

Bridge Academy will continue to use Edgenuity learning platform for students to

continue towards academic success. Vocational programing will also be available

from our virtual platform. Staff will be available to students by phone or scheduled

virtual appointment, as well we virtual office hours to answer questions and be of

assistance with academic and support services. Bridge Academy will continue to

provide technology for students.

Drive Thru Enrollment Events will continue each Tuesday from 1pm to 5pm, outside

of our Michigan Works! Service Center at 499 W. Main Street in Benton Harbor.

These enrollment events have been designed to ensure a safe, socially distance to

meet staff, enroll students and for students to learn about all programing that is

available to them as a Bridge Academy student. Students who are under 18 must

have a parent or guardian with them to enroll. If students or parents have

questions regarding enrollment or requirements, please call (800) 285-WORKS x.

1400 or email bridge@miworks.org. Students who have previously attended Bridge

Academy are required to re-enroll at one of these enrollment events.

Classes will begin virtually on Monday, August 31, 2020, and will remain virtual for

the first 9 weeks of school. Staff will continue to keep families aware of any updates

to virtual learning, important dates or health related information as it becomes

available.

We look forward to an exciting and successful school year to help you achieve your

goals!

Sincerely,

Allie Knapp
